Dennis M. McDougall

Dennis has been practicing law since 1993. Having grown up on a farm in Winnebago County, he took an undergraduate degree in Ag-Economics/Business at University of Wisconsin, Platteville.  He did additional post grad work in Ag-Industries (the equivalent of an Ag MBA).

Dennis then went on to manage multiple properties in the hospitality industry.  After gaining real world business experience, he took his law degree from Drake University College of Law.  While there, he worked as a student Assistant Iowa States Attorney and later in the summers as an Illinois 711 student defense attorney.

Upon admission to the Illinois bar he became an Assistant Public Defender in Winnebago County. As a felony assistant was instrumental in the formation and implementation of Winnebago County Drug Court, one of the earliest of the therapeutic courts in Illinois (and nationally).

After departing for private practice, Dennis was admitted to the Federal Bar. With 15 years now in private practice he currently handles matters concerning Bankruptcy, Business, Agriculture, Real Estate, Family Law, Estate Planning, and Criminal Law.  Organic farming and the issues surrounding this approach are a strong passion for Dennis as well as the protection and preservation of our family farms.
